terms

A small agreement, plainly stated.

Fini is built by one person and used by people who like the tempo of film. These terms are the boundaries that keep that possible, written in language you can actually read.

effective June 10, 2026

01

The short version

Fini is an iOS app for shooting limited rolls of film — alone or with people you invite. You use it; we keep it running. By installing the app or using the website you agree to the terms on this page. If anything here doesn’t sit right, don’t use Fini.

02

Who can use Fini

You need to be at least 13 to have an account, and old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live. If you’re under the local age of digital consent, you need a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf.

You’re responsible for everything you do with your account, including the photos you take and what you do with the people you invite to a roll.

03

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. The provider handles your credentials; we never see your password. Keep your device and your provider account secure — anyone with access to either has access to Fini.

You can delete your account anytime from inside the app. See the privacy policy for what that removes.

04

Your photos

Your photos are yours. You keep the copyright on every frame you shoot.

To make sharing and developing work, you give Fini a limited license to store and process the photos on shared rolls — only for the purpose of delivering them to the other participants of that roll. We don’t use your photos for marketing, training, or anything else.

Photos on personal rolls stay on your device and are never uploaded.

05

Shared rolls

When you join a shared roll, the other participants can see every frame you contribute once the roll is developed. The owner of the roll decides when developing happens (on Events rolls) or it happens when participants agree (on Friends rolls). You can leave a roll at any time, but frames you already contributed stay with the roll for the people who were there.

Don’t shoot people who don’t want to be shot. Don’t upload content that isn’t yours, that violates someone’s rights, or that’s illegal where the participants live. We can remove content and accounts that break this rule.

06

Subscriptions & billing

Personal rolls are free, one per month. Friends and Events are paid subscriptions purchased through the App Store. Pricing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Apple under their standard terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.

If a subscription lapses, your existing rolls remain visible, but you may lose the ability to create new shared rolls or invite past the free limits until you renew.

07

Acceptable use

Don’t use Fini to:

  • upload, share, or store content that’s illegal, hateful, sexual content involving minors, or that infringes someone’s rights;
  • harass, impersonate, or invade the privacy of other people;
  • reverse-engineer the app, scrape the service, or attempt to access data that isn’t yours;
  • resell, sublicense, or pretend Fini is your own product.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, usually without warning when the abuse is clear.

08

Changes to the service

Fini is a small, evolving product. Features may change, get added, or disappear. We’ll try not to break things people rely on without notice, but we don’t guarantee that any specific feature will exist forever. If we make a material change to a paid feature, we’ll let subscribers know.

09

Service availability

We do our best to keep Fini up and the developing pipeline running. We don’t promise 100% uptime — backups happen, networks flake, and developing may occasionally take longer than usual. The app is provided “as is.”

10

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Fini and its operator aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost photos, missed moments, hurt feelings — arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits; in those places, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.

11

Termination

You can stop using Fini and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. On termination, the provisions that by their nature should survive — ownership, liability, acceptable use — do.

12

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms in a way that matters, we’ll change the effective date above and, where reasonable, let active users know in the app. Continuing to use Fini after a change means you accept the new terms.
